Public transportation

Bank account

An account in a British bank is an essential thing which you need for living and working in Great Britain. Many new incomers open a BASIC account. This account is good for shorter stay (for instance for students who will live in GB only one term), but if you want to stay in GB for longer, this type of account is quite inconvinient. Basic accounts do not enable you to withdraw money through the cash counter in a bank, you will only get a cash card (card for withdrawing money from ATM with daily limit GBP 200).
We strongly recommend opening a debit account, which you can do from the begining of your stay in GB in some cases. You will get proper international credit card with internet payments option (it is good for buying cheap lowcost airline tickets). We cooperate with HSBC Bank HSBC Bank.

N.I.number

N.I.number is part of the social and health insuarance. It is a plastic card with your personal number intended for your employer who will pay social and health insuarance.
You will need one wage slip, passport and confirmation about accommodation to get your N.I. number. Is is very common that employer will not be able to hire you without N.I. number in some cases. We will assist you with getting N.I. number.

WRS

WRS is registration scheme for workers from new EU countries. Everybody starting to work in GB has to register in 30 days from the time he started working (it is the law, so you must do it!).

British driving licence

A British driving license is one of the most important ID (identity card), which is possible to get very quickly. The process of changing takes about 2 weeks, changing form is avaible on each post office in UK. You need application form, passport photography and 38 GBP fee (+ shipping fee) for the change of driving licence. British driving licence is a "magic key" for getting a bank account or a mobile phone contract.

C.I.S. card

C.I.S.card is a platic card with your name which is issued by Inland Revenue.This card is neccessary for working on construction for self-employed people (Trade Certificate).
